## The 24-hour window

WhatsApp only allows free-form messages during the 24 hours after the client's last message. After that, only Meta-approved **templates** can be sent.

On the number's row (sliders icon) you choose the **default templates**:

* **Agent reply** — the one the AI uses when the window is closed.
* **Manual reply** — the one you send from the Inbox via **Template**.

## Day to day

Messages arrive in the [Inbox](/en/help/inbox) with their channel marked as WhatsApp. The agent replies according to its configuration, and you can step in at any time.
